Terms of Service

German Notes is an online German language education platform operated by Jile Singh Sorout, based in Germany. By accessing our website at germannotes.org or enrolling in any course, you agree to these Terms of Service.

German Notes offers live online German language classes at levels A1 through B2, placement assessments, and supplementary learning resources. Course formats, schedules, and batch sizes are described on our website and may change from time to time.

Submitting an enrollment form is a request to join a batch, not a confirmed booking. A seat is confirmed only after you receive written confirmation from us and complete any required payment. We reserve the right to decline enrollment requests.

Batch sizes are limited to 12 students. If your preferred batch is full, we will offer you a place in the next available batch.

Course fees are stated in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise noted. Full payment is due before the start of the batch unless a payment plan has been agreed in writing. We accept bank transfer, UPI, and other methods communicated at enrollment.

• Before the batch starts: Full refund if you cancel more than 7 days before the first class. 50% refund if you cancel within 7 days of the first class.
• After the batch starts: No refund once the first class has been delivered, except in exceptional circumstances at our sole discretion.
• If we cancel: Full refund if German Notes cancels or discontinues a batch before it begins.

Refunds are processed within 10 business days to the original payment method.

Classes follow a fixed schedule communicated at enrollment. We may reschedule an individual session with at least 24 hours’ notice. Missed classes due to student absence are not refunded, but we will share session notes where possible.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@germannotes.org if you suspect unauthorised access.

You agree not to:

• Share course materials, recordings, or login credentials with third parties.
• Record live sessions without our written permission.
• Use our platform for any unlawful purpose or to harass other students.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems or other user accounts.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate removal from the course without a refund.

All course content — including lesson materials, worksheets, recordings, and assessments — is the intellectual property of German Notes. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use these materials for your own learning only.

German Notes provides language instruction and educational support. We do not guarantee specific exam results, visa outcomes, or employment outcomes. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the course fees you have paid.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India. If you are an EU resident, mandatory consumer protection rights under your local law are not affected by this clause.

Our processing of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains our compliance with both the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/DSGVO) for EU residents and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) for Indian users.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or via a notice on our website. Continued use of our services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
